Ronnie O'Sullivan feels that professional snooker is lacking in maverick characters to make the game more entertaining.
'The Rocket', who was recently crowned five-time world champion, believes that the sport is currently short of people who bring a unique personality to the game.
"What you are lacking is someone that adds a bit of pizzazz, every sport needs someone like your Alex Higgins or your Eric Cantona, a real character," the 37-year-old is quoted as saying in The Mirror.
"They are all nice guys and good boys [at the moment] but it just needs someone to get in there. Some players are trying to do it, but it's not natural. I don't try at all, I am a bit off-key at times but it's really me. I am like that and I do my thing. People like that.
"A lot of people are trying to put on an act but people see through it and don't buy it. You all need another crank to come along."
Rumours persist that O'Sullivan will call time on his decorated career following his latest triumph.
