Worcester head coach Richard Hill admits that his side were not at their best during Friday's 23-16 win over Sale Sharks at Kingsway.

Worcester Warriors head coach Richard Hill has admitted that his side "looked rusty" during their 23-16 win over Sale Sharks in the Aviva Premiership on Friday.

Andy Goode scored 18 points at Kingsholm as the Warriors did enough to condemn their opponents to a seventh consecutive league defeat.

"We looked rusty tonight," said Hill. "We have not really been tested in the Amlin Challenge Cup over the past two weeks, whereas Sale were a bit more battle-hardened, having come off Heineken Cup games against Cardiff Blues and Montpellier.

"We played a lot of rugby in our own half and caused quite a few problems for ourselves. We weren't at our best by any means, but we just had enough to repel Sale at the end."

The win has seen Worcester move up to eighth in the table.
