Scotland coach Vern Cotter not considering changes for South Africa yet

Scotland coach Vern Cotter tells Sports Mole that, despite a big impact from his replacements against USA, team selection for South Africa is not yet on his mind.

Scotland coach Vern Cotter has insisted that his team selection for the Pool B leaders' next Rugby World Cup match against South Africa will not be considered until later this week.

As in their first match against Japan, Scotland improved dramatically after half time today and three replacements, WP Nel, Matt Scott and Duncan Weir, all scored tries in the 39-16 win over USA at Elland Road.

In his post-match press conference, Cotter was quick to say that team selection for next Saturday's showdown against the Springboks at St James' Park was not on his mind.

"We'll give it 24 hours before we start thinking about South Africa," the New Zealander told Sports Mole. "We need to have a full 360 on these players and have a look to see where we're at.

"We won't be doing much the next three days, just focusing on getting to Newcastle. As from Wednesday they'll be flat-out again and then we'll have more of an idea before Saturday."

Scotland have a maximum 10 points out of 10 from their two matches, while South Africa are on seven with a win and a loss to their name.
