Dan Carter, Brodie Retallick praise New Zealand bench following Argentina win

Dan Carter and Brodie Rettalick both praise the impact of New Zealand's bench in their hardfought 26-16 victory over Argentina in the Rugby World Cup.

New Zealand fly-half Dan Carter and lock Brodie Retallick have both praised the strength and impact of the team's bench following their win over Argentina on Sunday.

Carter scored 16 points, from two conversions and four penalties, in a hardfought 26-16 victory.

"The bench were fantastic. Everyone that came on made an impact," the fly-half told reporters following the game.

Retallick added: "The lineouts were a mixed bag and they picked off a few of our lineouts. There was a wee bit of disappointment in the dressing room that we didn't get it as right as we needed to.

"The impact from the boys on the bench changed the pace of the game."

New Zealand take on Namibia in their next Rugby World Cup fixture on September 24.
