Pat Lam pens new Connacht deal

Connacht coach Pat Lam puts pen to paper on a new three-year contract with the club.

Connacht have confirmed that coach Pat Lam has signed a new three-year contract with the club.

The 46-year-old arrived at Galway Sportsgrounds at the start of last season before guiding the team to a 10th-placed finish in the Pro12.

"I am thrilled that I will be with Connacht Rugby for a further three years as we strive towards achieving great things," the former Samoa captain told the club's official website.

"We believe that we are certainly on the right track with all the good work that has been done over the years by many people. To be a part of it is very exciting."

Lam's previous coaching roles have included spells with Scotland, Auckland and his native Samoa.
