Rob Webber: 'Bath will show London Welsh respect they deserve'

Rob Webber insists that it will be dangerous for Bath to write off London Welsh before taking to the Kassam Stadium field.

Bath hooker Rob Webber has told his teammates to simply focus on their own game if they are to overcome Aviva Premiership strugglers London Welsh this afternoon.

The Exiles have been cut well adrift at the foot of the table, finding themselves with just a single point to their name and fast running out of time to turn their fortunes around.

However, Webber has warned that things may not may be as straightforward as they seem, with Welsh now fighting for their lives.

"We'll ignore it in the sense that it's not really anything to do with us. We need the win," he told the Bath Chronicle. "We're going out for as many points as we can get. London Welsh will look after London Welsh and Bath Rugby will look after Bath Rugby.

"We've had a couple of weeks off to recharge and reassess and what not, and we're itching to go really. The form guide would suggest that we should be victorious, but London Welsh are a team full of professional rugby players who are going to be fighting to get the win themselves.

"We've got to show them the respect they deserve, which we will do. We've got things that we want to put into play and it's up to us to do that and leave London Welsh to be London Welsh. Whoever puts their game into practice best on the day will win. There are always things at stake in this league. There's huge things at stake for London Welsh and huge things at stake for us."

Bath, who last took to the field 23 days ago, will climb back into the top four with a win at the Kassam Stadium.
