Stuart Hooper: "We've made it tough for ourselves"

Stuart Hooper remains confident that Bath can progress in the European Rugby Champions Cup, but admits that his side have 'made it tough for themselves'.

Bath captain Stuart Hooper has admitted that his side's European Rugby Champions Cup hopes now hang by a thread following their defeat to Toulouse.

The Aviva Premiership outfit suffered a narrow 21-19 loss against their French opponents this afternoon to remain winless in the competition.

Despite this, Hooper believes that Bath's improved performance following the 37-10 reverse at the hands of Glasgow Warriors last week offers a sign of hope.

"Toulouse had a dodgy start to the season, then through the last three games they reverted to a very physical approach, but I thought our boys fronted up brilliantly," he told Sky Sports News.

"The performance we delivered last week we know wasn't good enough. We didn't get the result today, but the performance was poles apart from where we were last week.

"We have made it tough for ourselves now. In all likelihood, we are going to have to go to Montpellier and Toulouse and win, and also win our home games. It's a challenge, but it is one that we are up for."

Bath return to action on Friday night when they take on London Welsh in the LV=Cup.
