St. Helens score a comfortable victory over London Broncos to close the gap on the top two in Super League.

London Broncos could not manage a point against a rampant St. Helens in the Super League this evening.

Had it not been for Jonny Lomax's kicking, the margin of victory would have been even greater.

After just three minutes the home side took the lead when Tony Puletua scored a try. Jonny Lomax made no mistake with the kick and St. Helens took a 6-0 lead.

The home team scored a second try just before half-time when Mark Flanagan went over, but this time Lomax could not add two points.

Flanagan added his second try five minutes after the break, but Lomax missed the kick once more.

St. Helens added to their lead five minutes later when Paul Wellens ran clear to score. It was just the four points though, as Lomax missed.

Wellens went over again with St. Helens deciding on a change of kicker. Gary Wheeler stepped up to convert in place of Lomax.

Anthony Laffranchi rounded off the win with a last-minute try, which was converted by Wheeler to give St. Helens a comfortable victory.
