Racing authorities in France have reached a decision on whether to proceed with the Frankie Dettori drugs case but have not made it public.
Dettori tested positive at the Longchamp racecourse in September for a substance which his solicitor insists is not "performance enhancing" and is facing a lengthy ban from the sport.
"It can stay at a medical level or the file can be sent on to the stewards, in which case it becomes a disciplinary matter," Henri Pouret, France-Galop's head of racing and regulation.
"France-Galop never disclose the substance in their decisions."
Julien Pescatore, director of press relations for France-Galop, added that the Italian jockey was not singled out for the drugs test.
"Frankie Dettori was not targeted," he said. "On average we test around five jockeys a day, and on big days we test 15-20.
"There are 700-900 tests on jockeys carried out each year. It is random, but every jockey can expect to be tested at least once a year."
Dettori did not attend Tuesday's inquiry in Paris in person and was represented by his legal team.
