Camille Muffat's boyfriend William Forgues describes the Olympic swimmer as a "very happy" person following her death as a result of a helicopter crash in Argentina.

Olympic French swimmer Camille Muffat was "very happy" to be part of the reality TV survival show that became the scene of her tragic death, according to her boyfriend William Forgues.

The 25-year-old was one of 10 people, including boxer Alexis Vastine and yachtswoman Florence Arthaud, who died when two helicopters collided during filming of the show Dropped in Argentina.

Following the tragic news, Forgues spoke to French television about Muffat and claimed that it was "100% her choice" to be on the show and that "she was where she wanted to be, that's life".

The two helicopter pilots also died in the accident.
