Manchester United defender Jonny Evans has revealed that he enjoys reading crime novels.
The 25-year-old was interviewed by the National Literary Trust, who spoke to one player from each top-flight club, and claimed that his favourite book is James Patterson's Jack and Jill.
"If I wasn't a footballer, it is something I would have liked to get into," the Daily Mail quotes Evans as saying.
Meanwhile, Wigan Athletic's David Jones has revealed that he has a passion for learning about Roman history.
"The Complete Roman Army is one of my favourite books in recent years," Jones added. "I really like reading history books, especially about the Roman Army.
"There has been a lot of films and a lot of documentaries about the Romans. There are a lot of ruins still around today which is really interesting to learn about."
Seven of the footballers interviewed revealed that autobiographies of their fellow professionals are among their favourite reads.
