Renault are unlikely to purchase the Red Bull-owned Toro Rosso Formula 1 team, but could use the constructor to market their brand, according to Helmut Marko.
The French supplier's relationship with Red Bull has been in the spotlight after a poor start to the season for the four-time constructors' champions.
Recent reports have suggested that Renault could make a move for Toro Rosso, but Red Bull advisor Marko has suggested that the engine manufacturer may look to use the Italian-based outfit as a marketing platform instead.
He told Formula1.com: "So there are considerations to either buy Toro Rosso or more likely give them a yellow livery to have a better marketing platform. But of course the figures have to correspond."
Max Verstappen finished seventh for Toro Rosso at the Malaysian Grand Prix, while teammate Carlos Sainz Jr came home in eighth.
