Lewis Hamilton wins Italian Grand Prix as Nico Rosberg retires early

Lewis Hamilton cruises to a dominant victory in the Italian Grand Prix, but faces an investigation relating to tyre pressure issues.

Lewis Hamilton has cruised to a straightforward victory in the Italian Grand Prix to put himself in pole position for the world title, but his win is yet to be confirmed.

The 30-year-old Brit's seventh victory in 12 races this season puts him 53 points ahead of Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg, who was forced to retire early, but he is currently under investigation for issues relating to tyre pressure.

Hamilton had a scare in the final laps when his team told him that he had to accelerate, while at the time not disclosing the situation, but it has been revealed that they were under the minimum tyre pressure at some point on Sunday.

With Vettel in second, Williams' Felipe Massa fended off a late attack from teammate Valtteri Bottas to take the final podium place.
