Lewis Hamilton tops standings in third practice

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton records the fastest time in third practice ahead of Sunday's British Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton has received a boost ahead of qualifying for the British Grand Prix by topping the standings in the third and final practice session.

The 2014 world champion could only post the fourth-quickest time in second practice on Friday, but the Mercedes driver had no problems in setting the pace on Saturday morning.

Hamilton finished over half-a-second faster than teammate Nico Rosberg, who had to deal with an oil leak, while Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen ended the session in third place.

Sebastian Vettel was in fourth spot, while Toro Rosso duo Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz were in fifth and sixth respectively.

Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso, who continue to struggle in the McLaren, could only register the 16th and 18th fastest times.
