Report: Jenson Button's McLaren future to be decided later today

Jenson Button's formula 1 future will be decided during a meeting between McLaren chiefs later today, according to a report.

The future of formula 1 star Jenson Button is reportedly expected to be resolved later today.

The 34-year-old, who became world champion in 2009, saw his contract with McLaren come to an end earlier this month.

According to ITV Sport, Button will find out this afternoon whether he is to be retained by the Working-based constructor, or if they instead opt to keep hold of Kevin Magnussen to partner Fernando Alonso next year.

Button finished in eighth place in the 2014 drivers' standings.
