Agent: 'Nicolas Otamendi wants to leave Valencia'

Nicolas Otamendi's agent Eugenio Lopez reveals that the Argentine international wants to leave Valencia this summer.

The agent of Valencia defender Nicolas Otamendi has said that his client wants to leave the club this summer.

Otamendi produced a number of impressive displays for Los Che over the past season as they earned a place in the Champions League by finishing fourth in the La Liga table.

The Argentine's performances have not gone unnoticed, with Manchester United reportedly interested in signing him, and his agent says that he has his heart set on a move.

"Nicolas told [executive president] Amadeo Salvo to his face two months ago, it surprises me that it is said that [sporting director] Rufete knew nothing. Or he lied or there is a lack of communication," Eugenio Lopez told Radio Valencia Cadena Ser.

"In these cases the will of the player is very important. Nico wants to leave Valencia and is going to do everything possible to achieve it."

Otamendi scored the opening goal for Valencia in their 3-2 victory over Almeria on the final day of the La Liga season at the weekend.
