Martin Dahlin believes Sweden will reach World Cup

Martin Dahlin believes that Sweden will overcome Portugal to reach the 2014 World Cup finals.

Martin Dahlin has stated his belief that Sweden will turn around a one-goal deficit against Portugal to book a place in next summer's World Cup finals.

Erik Hamren's side lost the first leg of their playoff tie 1-0 in Lisbon on Friday evening.

Ahead of this evening's return fixture in Stockholm, former Sweden striker Dahlin has claimed that home advantage could be key.

"Although we lost the first game everybody is looking forward to this one and we still believe we have a chance to turn it around," he told Sky Sports News.

"We played well in the first game, especially the defence, although we could have asked for a little bit more at the other end of the pitch.

"It will be disappointing that one of [Cristiano] Ronaldo or Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be at the finals as they are world-class players and I would love to have them both there. Unfortunately, that will not happen so hopefully it will be the Swedish team and Ibrahimovic who will be in Brazil."

Dahlin scored 29 goals in 60 appearances for Sweden.
