Queens Park Rangers and Sunderland reportedly prepare to rival Everton for the signature of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Steven Pienaar.

Premier League pair Queens Park Rangers and Sunderland have reportedly shown an interest in signing Steven Pienaar from Tottenham Hotspur.

The South African midfielder has long been linked with a return to his former club Everton, having spent six months on loan at Goodison Park last season.

However, it has been claimed that despite a number of talks, the Toffees and Spurs have failed to reach an agreement over the 30-year-old's services.

That has alerted both QPR and Sunderland, who are readying bids, according to Sky Sports News.

Recent speculation has hinted that Pienaar would prefer a permanent move to Everton.
