Christian Eriksen: 'Tottenham Hotspur showed most desire to sign me'

Christian Eriksen reveals that the desire to sign him shown by Tottenham officials Daniel Levy and Franco Baldini was a key factor in him moving to White Hart Lane.

Christian Eriksen has revealed that Daniel Levy and Franco Baldini's eagerness to to sign him was an important factor in his decision to join Tottenham Hotspur.

The Danish playmaker joined Spurs for £11m from Ajax late in the transfer window, and had an immediate impact in a Lillywhites shirt when he assisted Gylfi Sigurdsson in Saturday's 2-0 win over Norwich City.

Eriksen had been linked with several other European clubs, but says that chairman Levy and technical director Baldini's passionate pursuit of him convinced him that White Hart Lane was his best option.

"I talked a little bit with the manager but I had more to do with the chairman and the director Baldini. They were they guys who really had the right words," Eriksen told reporters.

"The first contact was with my agent and then my agent talked to me and I said, 'Go on, I really want to hear what they have got to say'.

"The next day, I was here for a medical. It went really quick. Just four days. It really impressed me that they wanted it so badly and wanted to do it so quickly."

Eriksen, 21, has been capped 39 times at international level, scoring four goals since debuting in 2010.
