Real Madrid assistant manager Zinedine Zidane has admitted that he is 'unsure' whether Xabi Alonso will sign a new long-term contact with the Spanish outfit.
Speculation has intensified in the last week or so that the Spanish international could look to depart the Bernabeu either in January or on a free transfer next summer with his contract nearing completion.
A number of European clubs have been linked with the midfielder's services and now Zidane has added fuel to the recent reports.
"We do not know about about Xabi," Cuatro quotes Zidane as saying.
Alonso missed the early part of this season through injury.
