Real Madrid will bring a new striker to the Bernabeu when the January transfer window opens for business, according to a report.

Los Blancos re-signed Mariano Diaz from Lyon during the summer to boost their options in the final third, but they failed to bring in a big-name replacement for the outgoing Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Madrid giants have won their last four matches in all competitions but have largely struggled for goals in the opening months of the 2018-19 campaign, with Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema scoring just eight between them in the league thus far.

According to Sport, Madrid president Florentino Perez has accepted that he will not be able to make a big-money signing in January but wants an experienced striker to help boost the squad.

The report claims that Monaco forward Radamel Falcao is a possibility for the European champions, while Los Angeles Galaxy's Zlatan Ibrahimovic is also being considered following the end of the MLS season.

Madrid will attempt to make it five straight wins in all competitions when they travel to Eibar in La Liga this weekend.
