Ten-man Bordeaux come from behind to draw with Paris Saint-Germain

Bordeaux come from behind to share a 2-2 draw with Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1, despite finishing the match with 10 men.

Bordeaux scored late on to secure a 2-2 draw with Paris Saint-Germain in their Ligue 1 match at Parc des Princes this evening, despite being reduced to 10 men just two minutes before equalising.

The home side dominated possession in the early stages of the match, but neither team created anything to trouble the goalkeepers in the opening 25 minutes.

However, the French champions broke the deadlock shortly before the half-hour mark when a sloppy clearance set up Edinson Cavani, who had been lurking on the edge of the box, for a simple tap-in from close range.

It took Bordeaux less than five minutes to get back on level terms as Wahbi Khazri curled the ball in from a corner after seeing his effort deflected behind moments earlier, setting Henri Saivet up for a header at the near post.

Saivet was involved down the other end moments later though as he tripped Cavani on the edge of the box, leaving the Uruguayan striker to curl the ball into the top left corner directly from the resulting free kick.

Angel di Maria, who started for the first time for PSG this evening, could have added a third just before the interval after picking up the ball inside the six-yard box, but he scuffed his finish straight at Cedric Carrasso.

The home side were on a charge at the start of the second half as they sought to wrap up the victory, but Blaise Matuidi blasted his effort well high, before Carrasso beat Cavani to the ball as he looked to connect with a Marquinhos cross.

Khazri attempted to create something in the PSG box shortly before the hour mark as Bordeaux started to see more of the ball, sending a curling ball in for Nicolas Pallois, but his header flew wide.

Kevin Trapp was called into action in the PSG goal soon after as Bordeaux started to dominate the action, with the keeper tipping an Enzo Crivelli header around the post.

The visitors' chances of rescuing something from the match were dealt a blow inside the final 15 minutes when Saivet received his second yellow card of the evening, leaving Bordeaux to face the closing stages of the tie a man short.

However, they were back on level terms within two minutes of his dismissal as Trapp came off his line to make what should have been a straightforward take from a cross, but the keeper spilled it into the path of Khazri, leaving him to smash the ball past the fumbling keeper.

Ezequiel Lavezzi tried to edge the hosts back ahead with just over five minutes remaining, attempting to curl the ball into the top corner from the edge of the box, only to see Carrasso tip it behind.

Di Maria tried his luck from long range in the final minutes, but his finish was blocked, while Cavani missed a chance to complete his hat-trick when he sliced the ball over from a Serge Aurier through-ball, ensuring that the visitors held on for the draw.

Despite dropping points for the first time this season, PSG remain comfortably clear at the top of the table, four points ahead of nearest rivals Reims, while Bordeaux move up to ninth.
