Louis van Gaal: 'We will battle to be World Cup winners'

Netherlands boss Louis van Gaal claims that his side will battle until the end to win the World Cup for the first time in their history.

Netherlands boss Louis van Gaal has insisted that his side will battle to the end to win their first World Cup.

The Oranje reached the final in 2010 where they were defeated by Spain, and are now just two wins away from reaching the final again as they face Costa Rica in their quarter-final clash.

Van Gaal is adamant that his side have to stick together as the tournament enters its most crucial stage for his team.

He told reporters: "We all have one goal, we are all supporting each other, complementing each other. That's what the Dutch team is, all 23 players.

"That will remain for the entire tournament, even if we lose. The Dutch team will fight right to the very last minute to become world champions."

The Netherlands face off against Costa Rica in Salvador later today.
