Napoli could reportedly battle Manchester United for the signature of Villarreal centre-back Pau Torres.
The 24-year-old has been in impressive form for the Yellow Submarine during the 2020-21 campaign and has played a key role in their progression to the Europa League final.
Man United continue to be strongly linked with the Spain international, who could allegedly be available for around €30m (£26m) during this summer's transfer window.
However, according to Calciomercato, the 20-time English champions are likely to face strong competition from Napoli, with the Serie A outfit potentially seeking a replacement for Kalidou Koulibaly.
Real Madrid have also been credited with an interest in Torres, who has scored three times and provided two assists in 41 appearances at club level this term.
Man United's interest in the Villarreal defender could depend on whether they are able to sign Raphael Varane from Real Madrid in the upcoming market.
