Manchester United consider signing another forward before the end of the January transfer window, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly looking to sign another striker before the end of the January transfer window despite recently bringing in Wout Weghorst from Burnley.

The 20-time English champions terminated Cristiano Ronaldo's contract at the end of November following the explosive interview that he gave to Piers Morgan on TalkTV.

A lack of options in the final third of the field led to the club moving to sign Weghorst from Burnley, with the Dutchman set to spend the remainder of the campaign at Old Trafford.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Man United are keen to bring another striker to the club, potentially on loan, with the club concerned by Anthony Martial's fitness problems.

Martial's recent absence has allowed Weghorst to start the Premier League games against Crystal Palace and Arsenal, and it is currently unclear when the former will be able to return.

Man United have allegedly signalled that they are not looking to sign any more players this month, but head coach Erik ten Hag recently insisted that the door was not closed on further additions.

"I think as Manchester United you always have to look for solutions, and always you have to look for better and that is what we will do," the Dutchman told reporters.

"We will be doing our research and if there are opportunities, we have to go for it."

The Glazer family are allegedly not prepared to sanction a big-money arrival in January due to the money that was spent over the summer, while the owners are also in talks over selling the club.

However, it is alleged that the Red Devils are open to bring in another forward, likely on loan, to boost their squad due to the concerns over Martial's issues.

Any move could be related to what happens with Facundo Pellistri and Anthony Elanga, with both players linked with loan moves away from Old Trafford this month.

Pellistri recently made his first-team debut against Charlton Athletic in the EFL Cup, while he has been on the bench for the last two Premier League matches against Crystal Palace and Arsenal.

Elanga has made 18 appearances for the Red Devils this season, but he has not been used in the team's last three league matches, with his only start in January coming against Charlton Athletic in the EFL Cup.

There is believed to be interest from Spanish and Italian clubs when it comes to Pellistri, while Everton are among the Premier League sides to be linked with a move for Elanga.

Man United will be aiming to bounce back from Sunday's 3-2 loss to Arsenal in the Premier League when they head to Nottingham Forest for the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final on Wednesday night.
