Darren Bent tips Manchester City to make Paul Pogba move

Manchester City could make an attempt to sign Paul Pogba from Manchester United, according to former England forward Darren Bent.

Former Premier League forward Darren Bent has said that he 'would not be surprised' if Manchester City made an attempt to sign Paul Pogba from Manchester United at the end of the season.

The France international, who is currently on the sidelines recovering from ankle surgery, is widely expected to leave Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side during this summer's transfer window.

The 2018 World Cup winner has allegedly told his United teammates that he is determined to leave ahead of next season, while the Red Devils are thought to have lowered their asking price by £30m.

Bent has claimed that "a whole host of teams" will be lining up for Pogba, who could even be a target for the reigning Premier League champions, according to the former England international.

"When you talk about Manchester United selling him, I think there's going to be a whole host of teams lining up to get him," Bent told talkSPORT.

"I know people are saying they're going to have to take a loss on him, but I can see him going pretty much anywhere he wants - certain teams in the Premier League by the way.

"When someone like a Paul Pogba comes available on the market, and let's not forget he's only 26, there's going to be so many takers. It wouldn't surprise me if teams like Manchester City come in for him. I can see him getting in Liverpool's team, too. If he's on top, top form he can get in most teams in the world."

Pogba has contributed two assists in eight appearances for United this season.
