Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has confirmed that the Bundesliga champions are interested in signing Borussia Dortmund's Erling Braut Haaland.
The 20-year-old made it 60 goals in 60 appearances for BVB when he scored three times against Wehen Wiesbaden in the DFB-Pokal on Saturday.
Chelsea have been strongly linked with the Norway international during this summer's transfer window, but Dortmund have continued to insist that the forward is not for sale.
There will be a £67m release clause in Haaland's contract next summer, though, and a whole host of clubs, including Manchester City, Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid, are said to be preparing to compete for his signature.
Salihamidzic has now confirmed that Bayern are also tracking the Norwegian, as the German giants seek a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
"This is a top player who the whole world probably wants," Sport1 quotes Salihamidzic as saying. "Of course we are looking at him. Otherwise we would be complete amateurs."
Haaland scored 41 times in 41 appearances at club level during the 2020-21 campaign, including 27 goals in 28 Bundesliga appearances.
