Sporting Lisbon midfielder Pedro Goncalves, previously linked with a move to Manchester United, is reportedly a summer transfer target for Arsenal.

Arsenal have reportedly joined Manchester United in the race to sign Sporting Lisbon attacker Pedro Goncalves.

The 22-year-old has found the net 15 times in the Primeira Liga this season and has a further three assists.

Goncalves has been likened to Bruno Fernandes in terms of his style of play and was recently touted as a target for United.

According to Portuguese outlet A Bola, Arsenal have also been monitoring Goncalves's progress with a view to making a move at the end of the season.

The Portugal Under-21s international has a £52m release clause in his contract, although Sporting may be tempted to cash in on the midfielder for a lower price.
