Manchester United full-back Luke Shaw reportedly holds frank talks with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after taking the recent defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers badly.

Luke Shaw has reportedly held talks with caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after reacting badly to Manchester United's recent back-to-back defeats.

The Red Devils' momentum took a hit ahead of the international break as they lost 2-0 to Arsenal in the Premier League and 2-1 to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

Shaw has become a key player for United once again in recent months but, according to The Sun, he was unhappy with the manner of his side's limp displays at the Emirates Stadium and Molineux.

Solskjaer is said to have a healthy relationship with the full-back and he has urged him to put the disappointing run to one side.

An Old Trafford insider is quoted as saying: "Luke took the Wolves defeat pretty bad. Ole had a chat with him to try and pick him up. It was long and frank and he was trying to keep him going.

"Luke felt he and the rest of the defenders allowed Wolves into the game. Ole and Luke spoke after he had dealt with the main squad. They have a good relationship and get on really well.

"It wasn't anything serious but it just shows how much all the squad care for Ole and what he has brought to the club."

Shaw is one of a handful of United players to have publicly called for Solskjaer to be appointed the club's next permanent manager.
