Manchester United only had seven first-team players available for Saturday's Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion, according to a report.

Manchester United reportedly only had seven first-team players available for Saturday's Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford.

A coronavirus outbreak in the Red Devils squad, which came to light before training on Sunday, saw Tuesday's game against Brentford called off on Monday evening.

Meanwhile, it was confirmed on Thursday that the clash with Brighton, scheduled for Saturday afternoon, had been postponed due to Man United's COVID-19 issues.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Red Devils boss Ralf Rangnick had only seven first-team players available for the game against the Seagulls.

The report claims that 'at least' 19 first-team players and staff members have tested positive for the virus since the weekend.

Man United have closed their Carrington Training Complex until next week in a bid to halt the spread of the virus, but the club are hopeful that they will be able to resume their Premier League season against Newcastle United on December 27.
