The Glazers are reportedly set to invest £11m into developing Manchester United's facilities, including Old Trafford and their training ground in Carrington.

Manchester United owners the Glazer family have reportedly claimed that they will invest £11m into developing Old Trafford and the Carrington training ground.

The Glazers have been heavily criticised this season, especially following their involvement in the European Super League, and for allowing Old Trafford to deteriorate.

Former Man United full-back Gary Neville has said that the Theatre of Dreams is rotting and the training ground is not one of the top facilities in Europe anymore.

On Friday, Joel Glazer made his first contact with supporters since their takeover more than 15 years ago during a fans' forum, and he explained their plans to invest in the club's facilities: "Old Trafford is at the heart of Manchester United and while we have spent over £100m over the last 10 years on infrastructure projects, we will now accelerate the process of planning much more significant investment and upgrades to the stadium.

"Rest assured, we will consult with supporters throughout the process to end up with a result we can all be proud of. The same goes for our training ground.

"Preliminary planning work is already underway and there will be significant funding available to further enhance our facilities and ensure they remain world-class."

An overhaul of the dressing rooms, new floodlights and a new digital ticketing system are expected to be part of the Glazers' investment.
