Manuel Pellegrini has been giving advice to New York City coach Jason Kreis in order to help the MLS club replicate Manchester City's style.
Kreis was given the job as New York's first ever manager ahead of their maiden MLS season, and he has been picking up tips from Pellegrini, who is certain that the 41-year-old will be a success in football management.
"[Jason] is working with us the last six months, he's a young coach with a great season here in MLS," Pellegrini is quoted as saying by MEN Sport.
"I think he was second last year, we are trying to start working as a global team, with New York City, Melbourne City, with all the clubs trying to have just one playing style.
"I think that Jason is a very good manager I'm sure he'll be very successful here. I think the idea to have just one kind of style of play and just one idea of what a club is it is important to have a good relationship."
New York City were announced as Major League Soccer's 20th franchise on May 21, 2013.
