Fernandinho: 'Manchester City won't change attacking approach'

Fernandinho insists that Manchester City will not change their attacking style regardless of who they play against.

Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho has insisted that the team will not adapt their style of play to their opponents.

At the weekend against Chelsea, City's attacking intent was clear when they brought on Edin Dzeko, Frank Lampard and Stevan Jovetic at Stamford Bridge.

For Chelsea, however, manager Jose Mourinho seemed content not to lose the game by taking goalscorer Loic Remy off the pitch and bringing on defender Gary Cahill in the game, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

"The important thing is that we play every match in the same way, from first minute to last," the Manchester Evening News quotes Fernandinho as saying.

"The manager asks us to work every day in the same way - it doesn't matter who we are playing against. We try to do it, but sometimes we can and sometimes we can't."

City currently reside five points below Premier League leaders Chelsea.
