Barcelona reportedly plot a January swoop for in-demand Red Bull Salzburg forward Karim Adeyemi as Xavi and Joan Laporta aim to solve their side's attacking troubles.

Barcelona are reportedly hopeful of winning the race for the signature of Red Bull Salzburg striker Karim Adeyemi.

The 19-year-old has enjoyed a stellar campaign with the Austrian champions this term and already has 15 goals to boast from 22 games in all tournaments.

Adeyemi's form is thought to have attracted the interest of several top European clubs, with Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool all supposedly keeping tabs on his development.

However, El Nacional claims that Barcelona are plotting a move for Adeyemi to solve their attacking woes, with Sergio Aguero, Ousmane Dembele and Ansu Fati all in the treatment room.

New Blaugrana boss Xavi and president Joan Laporta are expected to be in the market for a new frontman in January, with current striker Luuk de Jong thought to be at risk of being axed.

Adeyemi's deal with Salzburg is not due to expire until the summer of 2024, and representatives from Real Madrid have reportedly already made contact with the teenager's entourage.
