Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp: 'I trust the qualities of my players'

Jurgen Klopp insists that he 'trusts' the quality of his players to grab his first win as Liverpool manager following back-to-back draws.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has insisted that he 'trusts' his players to carve out victories after overseeing draws in his first two games in charge.

The German coach, who ended a seven-year spell at Borussia Dortmund in the summer, witnessed his new team play out a goalless draw against Tottenham Hotspur last week.

The Reds also struggled to win on Thursday when they were held to a 1-1 draw by 10-man Rubin Kazan in the Europa League.

"I trust in the qualities of the players," Klopp told reporters in this afternoon's press conference. "It's not easy to compare completely different things but in my first season at Dortmund we had 15 draws.

"If you want, it's a half-win. We didn't lose. I see the pressure on the players, missing this chance or that chance, but it's only important that you always make the right decision in the right moment.

"They have the quality to finish, to create chances - that's no problem. We can work with this information."

Liverpool will face Southampton at Anfield on Sunday.
