Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admits that he has missed not being able to call upon Adam Lallana, who he expects to have back to full fitness this time next month.

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Adam Lallana will not return to action for Liverpool until after the next international break in November.

The 29-year-old ruptured a thigh tendon before kicking a ball this season, seeing him miss the Reds' inconsistent start to the campaign.

Reports at the weekend suggested that the English midfielder will be absent until the second half of next month, despite being present at the club's Melwood training ground on Monday.

Speaking to reporters ahead of Liverpool's Champions League tie against Maribor, Klopp said: "It's absolutely good news. Maybe after the next international break he could be back. It would be fantastic for us of course. Everybody knows what kind of a quality player he is.

"Sadio [Mane] didn't play a few games already and now he is injured, Adam is not in, Clyney (Nathaniel Clyne) is not in as well, but it's also a fact other teams also miss players.

"Of course it's better if Adam could have scored in one game or another, but there is nothing we can do about this. It's just good that he's back in a few weeks."

Lallana, who spent time in Qatar earlier this month as part of his recovery programme, played a direct part in 15 goals in 31 league outings for Liverpool last time out.
