Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp confirms that Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara should be in contention to face Burnley on Saturday.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara should be in contention to face Burnley on Saturday.

The midfield duo were nowhere to be seen in last week's win at Norwich City as they continue to build their fitness following the summer's international exploits.

Thiago has also had to overcome a minor injury in pre-season, but Klopp has been able to issue a positive update on the pair before gameweek two of the Premier League season.

Speaking to the media ahead of the visit of Burnley, Klopp said: "They are much closer. They look fine and we have to make the decision. It was a good training week so it's up to me to make the decisions."

Liverpool prepare to welcome Burnley to Anfield after Sean Dyche's men ended the Reds' 68-game unbeaten league run at home last term - a streak stretching all the way back to April 2017.
