Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp to face former club Dortmund in Europa League quarters

Jurgen Klopp will return to his former club Borussia Dortmund as Liverpool are drawn the German side in the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will take on his former club Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

The two clubs were drawn in the final eight during a ceremony by UEFA in Nyon on Friday.

In seven years in charge of Dortmund, Klopp won the Bundesliga title twice, the DFB-Pokal, and in the 2012-13 campaign guided the team to the final of the Champions League, where they lost to Bayern Munich.

Klopp, who replaced Brendan Rodgers as Liverpool boss in October last year, will take his Reds to the Signal Iduna Park having already beaten Manchester United in this competition.

Liverpool earned their spot in the final eight by overcoming their long-standing rivals 3-1 on aggregate in the last-16 stage, while Dortmund progressed following a 5-1 aggregate win over Tottenham Hotspur.

Since Klopp left the German outfit last summer, his successor Thomas Tuchel has impressed in the dugout and the team remain unbeaten in 2016.

Meanwhile, Braga will take on Shakhtar Donetsk in the quarter-finals, while Villarreal will take on Sparta Prague.

The final tie of the quarter-final stage will be an all-Spanish one as Athletic Bilbao have been drawn against Sevilla.

The first legs will be played on April 7, with the return fixtures scheduled for April 14.
