Roberto Mancini: 'Inter Milan need to understand my ideas quickly'

Roberto Mancini has said that his players must learn his ideas quickly if they are to succeed this season.

Inter Milan boss Roberto Mancini has told his squad that they must learn his ideas quickly if they want to succeed.

Inter have only won once since Mancini took over from Walter Mazzarri and are six points behind Lazio, who sit in third place.

Mancini wants his players to believe in their own ability as well as listen to and learn his ideas quickly if they are to progress further in the Europa League and clinch a top-three finish in the domestic league.

"It has been wonderful to come back here and experience that connection with the fans," the 50-year-old said, according to Goal.com.

"Now it's down to me to make the squad understand my ideas quickly so that we can taste success again. There's work to do, but we're on the right track.

"First of all, we need to believe we can achieve a third place finish, otherwise there's simply no point. It'll be difficult, but you always need to have confidence in your own ability. It's up to us to go for it, both in Serie A and the Europa League."

All Serie A teams are enjoying the winter break currently, but Mancini's side return to action against Juventus in January.
