Brede Hangeland hungry for points

Brede Hangeland says that it is possible for Fulham to get positive results in their next two matches against Crystal Palace and Southampton.

Brede Hangeland has said that there is no need for Fulham to panic as they linger one place above the Premier League drop zone after seven games.

The Cottagers have won just seven points so far this season, which sees them level with Norwich City but outside the bottom three courtesy of a superior goal difference.

Victory over Crystal Palace on Monday night will see Martin Jol's men overtake West Ham United into 14th before games against Southampton, Manchester United and Liverpool.

"I am not particularly pleased [with the points total]," the Norwegian centre-back told Dagbladet. "We've got work to do - we have had a fairly tough programme, but one point on average per match is worse than we had planned.

"I hope [the win over Stoke City] was a turning point. It was a truly important win. It is still early in the season. We should not get stressed, but we are hoping to get more in the future and advance in the standings.

"I would like us to collect some points in the two upcoming matches, before the two difficult matches. It is possible to take points against United and Liverpool. We've got a tradition of taking points against the top clubs at times."

Fulham's only other victory this season was on the opening day against Sunderland.
