Brighton & Hove Albion boss Chris Hughton claims that this weekend could be "the worst time" to play Arsenal following the events of the last week.

Brighton & Hove Albion boss Chris Hughton has claimed that this weekend could be "the worst time" to play Arsenal following the events of the last week.

The Gunners have lost 3-0 to Manchester City on two separate occasions over the last five days - first in the EFL Cup final on Sunday afternoon before a home defeat in the Premier League on Thursday night.

Hughton, however, has said that his team are "wary of a reaction" from the Gunners this weekend as Arsene Wenger's side look to pick up three much-needed points.

"When you are playing a team of the stature of Arsenal, you've got to be wary of a reaction. It could arguably be the worst time to play them, so we have to make sure we play to the levels we know we can," Hughton told reporters.

Brighton have only lost three of their 14 home Premier League matches this season, while a total of 31 points from 28 matches has left them in 12th position in the table.
