Mark Warburton: 'Brentford can still make playoffs'

Mark Warburton insists that Brentford can still make the Championship playoffs despite drawing at home to Bolton Wanderers.

Manager Mark Warburton has insisted that Brentford can still make the Championship playoffs despite dropping points in a 2-2 home draw against Bolton Wanderers this afternoon.

Alex Pritchard gave the Bees the lead before Adam le Fondre equalised. Jonathan Douglas scored Brentford's second, but Mark Davies capitalised on a defensive error to rescue a point for Bolton at Griffin Park.

"We looked good going in at half time and we'd worked hard to force the game on the front foot," Warburton told Sky Sports News.

"After the break the loose ball has cost us and we were a little bit sloppy in the final pass, perhaps because the players wanted to force the game a little too much.

"There will be a lot more twists and turns this season. We are far from disappointed because we can still get 78 points this season and if we do, then who knows what might happen."

Brentford are seventh in the Championship table, three points behind the top six with two games remaining.
