Brett Ormerod understands Blackpool fans' anger

Former Blackpool striker Karl Ormerod says that he understands supporters' anger over a lack of investment in the squad.

Ex-Blackpool striker Brett Ormerod has admitted that he can sympathise with fans regarding their frustration over a lack of investment at the club.

The Seasiders are currently bottom of League One following their relegation from the Championship last term, and supporters have regularly voiced their desire to see chairman Karl Oyston sell the club.

The Tangerines spent around £500,000 during the summer and added as many as 12 players to their ranks, but Ormerod believes that the supporters are entitled to expect more from the club's hierarchy.

"I think even the most optimistic fan would say that they don't expect Karl to throw around millions because he is not that type of owner," Ormerod told Sky Sports News.

"But it's fair that they want to see investment and help keep the team pushing and competitive and at least a mid-Championship side with an eye on coming back to the Premier League.

"There's so much gone on over the last two years that I can see [Oyston] building bridges [with the club's supporters]."

Blackpool are hosted by Scunthorpe this afternoon.
