Gary Bowyer: 'Rudy Gestede valuation yet to be met'

Gary Bowyer warns Premier League clubs tracking striker Rudy Gestede that Blackburn Rovers will not sell their star man unless his valuation is met in full.

Blackburn Rovers manager Gary Bowyer has insisted that Rudy Gestede will not be sold this month unless the player's valuation is met.

The 26-year-old has reportedly been tracked by numerous Premier League clubs this campaign, including Crystal Palace and Hull City, having scored 12 goals in 24 appearances.

New Palace boss Alan Pardew is said to have made a bid for Gestede last week, which led to the former Cardiff City striker being omitted from his side's 1-1 draw against Wigan Athletic, although Bowyer is demanding more money.

"I think the owners have a valuation and until it's met I don't think he'll be going anywhere," he is quoted as saying by The Mirror. "We thought it might have progressed quicker than it has and that's why he wasn't involved [against Wigan].

"There have been no further developments, so he goes into the squad for Saturday. He's conducted himself in a brilliant way. It's not his fault people have not met the valuation put on him by our owners.

"That's out of my hands and Rudy's. All we can do is focus on the football side - and that's preparing for Swansea."

David Wancier, the agent of the Benin international, claimed earlier this week that his client has his eyes set on a move to Selhurst Park.
