Birmingham City confirm Demarai Gray stay

Birmingham City confirm that youngster Demarai Gray will stay at the club beyond the January transfer window.

Birmingham City have confirmed that Demarai Gray will be staying with the club for the foreseeable future.

The 18-year-old forward has attracted the interest of a number of clubs during the January transfer window - most notably Bournemouth - but Birmingham have said that he will not be completing a late deal elsewhere.

"Birmingham City is pleased that one of our prized assets, Demarai Gray, is staying with the club," a statement on the club's official website read. Throughout this transfer window the board of directors and the manager have remained steadfast in the desire to keep Demarai.

"It has been well documented that we received several offers for Demarai, none of which reflected the ability and potential of the player, who is held in such high regard. And Demarai has never once given any indication that he wanted to leave.

"We hope that supporters, whose frustrations at the sale of some of our top young talents in recent times we understand, will be buoyed by this news."

Gray has scored five goals in 17 appearances for the Blues this season.
