Graham Taylor: 'Victory important for Aston Villa'

Graham Taylor insists that victory was the most important thing for Aston Villa against Bournemouth in the FA Cup fourth round.

Former Aston Villa boss Graham Taylor has claimed victory was the most important thing for the team against Bournemouth in the FA Cup.

The Villans booked their place in the fifth round of the competition on Sunday as they saw off the Championship outfit 2-1 on home turf.

Despite a nervy finish to the game, Taylor believes that the players will be relieved to get through the tie.

"They just about deserved the win," he told BBC Sport. "The most important thing for Villa was to get through. They are not doing very well in the Premier League, and to have been knocked out by a Championship team would have been even worse."

Villa are back in action next Sunday when they make the trip to Arsenal in the Premier League.
