Leandro Trossard says that he wants to help create "magic moments" for Arsenal following his move from Brighton & Hove Albion.

Arsenal attacker Leandro Trossard is hopeful of helping the North London club to create "magic moments" after completing his move from Brighton & Hove Albion.

The 28-year-old's arrival was confirmed on Friday afternoon, and he is understood to have signed a four-year deal with the option of an additional 12 months.

Trossard left Brighton in acrimonious circumstances, having been left out of their squad for last weekend's win over Liverpool before his agent demanded a transfer away.

Arsenal have pipped Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur to the winter signing of Trossard, who becomes the Premier League leaders' first arrival of the January window.

Speaking to arsenal.com after signing his contract, Trossard expressed his joy at making the move to the capital and has vowed to do everything in his power to help the Gunners achieve their dreams.

"I'm really excited to get started. This is a big club and I'm ready to show the fans what I can do," Trossard said. "Everyone has seen how well we're doing already and I'm here to help achieve their dreams - including myself.

"I'm going to take it day by day, work hard and try to help the team to achieve their goals. [I want to] get better as well. I know the manager is a great coach and I hope to be involved in doing great things and getting better as a player in every aspect.

"I'm really excited to see the fans in the stadium. I hope I can give you my all. I want to try and create as many magic moments as possible, and hopefully we can celebrate together."

Trossard came up with 25 goals and 14 assists in 121 matches for Brighton in all competitions, including seven goals from 16 Premier League games in the 2022-23 Premier League season.

The former Genk man - who scored a hat-trick against Liverpool in a 3-3 draw at Anfield in October - has been deployed in a number of positions in the Premier League, playing as an out-and-out striker, number 10 and left winger for Brighton.

However, Trossard has affirmed that he will adapt to Mikel Arteta's system as he competes with Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Emile Smith Rowe, Fabio Vieira, Eddie Nketiah and Marquinhos for attacking starts while Gabriel Jesus and Reiss Nelson recover from injuries.

"They [Edu and Arteta] told me they really like me as a player, that I would really suit the system and how they want to play," the Belgian added.

"It helps me that I'm versatile and that I can play in different positions. They're looking forward to working with me and vice versa. I'm really excited to work with them and I think Mikel is a top coach.

"I like to be in the pocket behind the striker. On the wings, I can explore myself as well. I'm comfortable in either of those positions but if I were to choose, behind the striker - but it all depends on the system.

"We did a great job at Brighton and my form there has been really good. After the World Cup, I didn't play much because of the situation but I'm just so excited to start here with Arsenal and show myself on the biggest stage for a top club.

"[The club] has so much history and I want to be part of that history going on. That's why I joined this project. I'm really excited to be here. I want to show myself to all the fans and on the biggest stage."

Trossard could make his debut for Arsenal in Sunday's Premier League clash with Manchester United, with the Gunners submitting the necessary paperwork before Friday's 12pm registration deadline.

Arsenal are "hopeful" that the attacker can be part of the squad this weekend, as they aim to maintain or increase their five-point lead over Manchester City at the top of the table.
