Barcelona could reportedly make a £50m bid for RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano this summer.

Barcelona have reportedly entered the race for RB Leipzig centre-back Dayot Upamecano.

The 21-year-old, who has made 29 appearances for his German club this season, is believed to be a transfer target for both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur ahead of this summer's window.

However, according to Le 10 Sport, the Spanish champions are also now firmly in the race for the Frenchman, who could be available for £50m ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.

The report claims that Barca boss Quique Setien views signing defensive reinforcements as his top priority this summer.

Upamecano only has little over 12 months left to run on his current deal with Leipzig, potentially placing the Bundesliga side under pressure to sell this summer if a new contract cannot be agreed.

Barca's need for a new centre-back this summer would be strengthened if Samuel Umtiti, who has been linked with Manchester United and Arsenal, left Camp Nou.
