Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Manchester City could line up for Sunday's Premier League clash with Arsenal.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will once again work around the absence of his two standout midfielders for Sunday's Premier League clash with title rivals Arsenal at the Emirates.

On account of his needless red card against Nottingham Forest, Rodri will complete a three-match domestic suspension this weekend, while Kevin De Bruyne (hamstring) is still a few months away from a comeback too.

John Stones is also out due to his hip injury, despite appearing an unused substitute against RB Leipzig, but the Citizens are otherwise in good shape for the trip to the English capital, having Bernardo Silva from his recent physical glitch.

Silva was given the nod in the win over Leipzig in midweek, but Guardiola may be tempted to recall Jeremy Doku to the fold following his goal off the bench at the Red Bull Arena, with the Belgian potentially able to cause Ben White or Oleksandr Zinchenko a few more problems.

On the back of his stellar second-half cameo in the Champions League, Julian Alvarez will resume his duties in the final third alongside Erling Haaland, likely with Phil Foden completing the attacking quartet.

With Rodri absent and Kalvin Phillips still out of favour, Rico Lewis may have played his way into a start at the Emirates thanks to his dazzling display against Leipzig, while Mateo Kovacic's return would force Matheus Nunes and Jack Grealish to occupy places on the bench.

As Stones returns to the medical bay, Manuel Akanji should hold off the threat of Nathan Ake to continue in the rearguard, while Kyle Walker, Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias should also shield number one Ederson.

Manchester City possible starting lineup: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Akanji, Gvardiol; Lewis, Kovacic; Foden, Alvarez, Doku; Haaland
