Gervinho: 'I hate Arsenal'

Roma striker Gervinho slams Arsenal and manager Arsene Wenger over his treatment during his two years with the Gunners.

Roma striker Gervinho has revealed that his disappointing time at Arsenal has left him hating the club.

The Ivorian spent two years at the Emirates Stadium before joining the Italian side, and has admitted that he holds resentment over his treatment by manager Arsene Wenger during his time with the Gunners.

"[Wenger] never had confidence in me," Gervinho is reported as saying in Gazzetta dello Sport. "As a child I dreamed of playing for Arsenal, because I loved them.

"Now I hate them for the way Wenger treated me. However, I regretted leaving the club after such a short time without being able to show my worth, which I'm now doing at Roma instead."

Gervinho scored nine goals in 46 Premier League appearances for Arsenal.
